GURLZ CAMP!!!

Yes, I do realize that I did spell GURLZ wrong. Deal with it! Anyways, it was the bomb! I had the best tent EVER!!! We were pretty awesome needless to say. Our conversations were uh well quite funny...we were tired! So it made us loony and surprisingly- I was hyper! You should just ask Lindsay, Lauren, and August. It was quite a sight! Anywho- lets just say there was lots of laughs, an AMAZING testimony meeting, talk of Snipe Huntin' and of course SNIPE HUNTIN'!!! Which of course, the cops came because there was a complaint of us being "too loud" from the neighbors. Sorry guys, but that's just what you get from living close to a Stake Camp.

Hi. My name is Marissa and I'm a Sister of a Missionary. Dang proud of it too!!! I love Mondays now! (or at least until school starts!) Adam's p-days are Mondays which make the week start a lot better! And he sent pictures! Could life get better? Nope!

Busy , Busy, Busy!!!

Life has been quite busy lately! Since the last time I've updated, we've had Stake Youth Conference, been to the Uintah's with my pappy, parties with the friends, Micah's one year check-up, two weekends with the family, (in-a-row!) spending a week with Ben and Morgan, slaying a few snakes, Luke and Sam's baby blessings, and lots more! I just happen to be too lazy to write about it all! Maybe someday when I feel less-lazy I'll actually post pictures! But that's the happenins' with this Asian!

NO!

So today I babysat the Van Natter kiddos. And this is pretty much how it went down...

Austin didn't take a nap so we watched a movie on my iPad while the others napped. And of course I was too lazy to grab a pillow so I used a water floaty. In fact, it was such a great idea that Austin grabbed one too and sat by me. How sweet!

Kenz was sitting on my lap then went off to grab a book or a toy and Carter sat on my lap. Yeah she wasn't to happy about that. So she told Carter a big "NO" for sitting in her spot. But it's all good because I somehow fit both of them on my lap and legs...yeah it was pretty numb!:)

Bugga found one of those stretchy plastic balls. Those were always so fun to me! It made it me even like it more when he would stretch it each time and go "WOAH!!!" Like it was a new experience each time!

Happy Happy Happy!!!

Yes I did get a Duck Dynasty towel! And it made me happy happy happy! Best 8 bucks ever spent! Now I'm gonna be looking for Duck Dynasty gear. But I'm ready for swimming!:)

Happy National Donut Day!

Last Friday was National Donut Day! It was yummers! Even Micah liked it! 

When we were done, we packed up and had a drink of our 'babas'!

We Be Hikin'

Groupy picture!...Yeah didn't think the sun would ruin it!

So either Lindsay or Lauren, told me "Marissa you are so pretty!" How sweet! Made my day! But then I had to tell her "Thank you for saying that on the day I most look like a man!" Which was true, I had no intention of looking attractive by any means. So I took a picture of me lookin' like a man!

Once we conquered the hike, we took a picture (and yes by the way that is by houses. The scenery on the other side however was quite nice!) And yes, I told the girls to do that pose that they are all doing...but me. That's just how I roll! In fact, Adam told me I look like I'm doing the comando call! Lol!

~Needless to say, the hike with the Miamaids was full of smiles!~

Pig-Tails!

As I was babysitting this morning, I wanted to do something with Kenzer's hair. Then I thought pig-tails! I couldn't resist! There's just something so cute about pig-tails on little girls! I know, I know isn't that a disturbing name for a hairstyle? None-the-less, still adorable!

Casserole+Microwave=

Deciding I was hungry, I saw some frozen casserole and decided to warm that up. Being the 'genius' I am, this happened...

Yup. Lesson learned. 

Times With Chrys!

Today I invited Chrys over to swim. I thought it was clean free of well...nature. But then there were those little things that decide to fly from our tree straight into our pool...awesome. (NOT!) So Chrys being the awesome person she is helped me clean it up! Love her! She's such a trooper! After cleaning and chillin' we decided to go 'tan' here are some pics of our 'tannin':

Awe how nice of her! She squinted her eyes just for me! Just kiddin' she actually just blinked at the right moment.

Not Gonna Miss You!

Yes school, I will not miss you! Three months away from you sounds quite nice! And it has been! I mean seriously,

       ~ High School is getting closer

       ~ Spending time with friends and family
       ~ No homework
       ~ Swimming
       ~ NO HOMEWORK!!!

Could life get any better? I sumbit that it cannot! (Yes in fact, that is from Brian Regan. One of my favorite comedians!)

Land of Potatoes!

Ok I guess that the title could be a little sterotypical but yes I did go to Idaho for 5 days! It was SO much fun! I can't think of a better way to spend my week than to spend it being an auntie and being able to be with my sister and brother! Love 'em! So here are some of the happins' what we did!

Luke sat here for a long time. Just with big eyes! It was quite hilarious! We thought it could be a big spit up (He usually makes big eyes before the cookies come) but nope. My guess is that he really wanted to be a true whitey! After all, he is 1/4 Asian!

Double twins! Their outfits were so cute! Sam wasn't so happy about getting a picture taken so let's just pretend he's following his onesie and making a rockstar pose for daddy.

I think Sam likes to be snuggled. But he's got male in him by not wanting to admit it. He just acts like he's gassy or something. Still gotta love him though!

Elder Barnes!

I love my missionary brother! He's so spiritually strong in all that he does! He's such an example to me! I get so excited recieving his letters each week! Most of all his pictures! Here are a few from this week:

Pizza Face!

I watched cute lil Micah today again! What a cheesers! She thinks she's quite the hot shot with her new walking skills. She got mad at me when I would pick her up to walk somewhere! Lol!

She always knows when the camera is out! Cheeser! 

So by the time it got to lunch time I didn't really feel like putting much effort into making it. So it turned into a pizza rolls kind of lunch. This is how it went. (And yes that is Micah with a mini donut made by our fancy smancy new-ish donut maker!)

So I found some of Micah's sandals that Kari packed. She loved them! She kept walking around the house with them on with the occasional stop and play with my sandals.

She even walked on the tile! (She hates the feeling of it!) I'm pretty sure she even stomped for effect that she didn't have the tile feeling on her feet anymore!

Spendin' the Day with Micah

While Josh and Kari were off cleaning their brand-spankin-new house (okay maybe not so brand- new. Like 20 years brand-new) I got to watch Micah! If I do say so myself, she's quite busy busy busy! Kari wasn't kiddin! Love her craziness though!

I tried to be all sneaky and french braid Micah's hair. Yeah it worked until I was about to take the picture. Then she decided to get all squirmy! 

While Mike was playing with her doll house toys, I saw some wipes and thought I would clean a few toys. Once she saw me, she watched for a minute, then decided that she wanted to help too. She went over to try and get a wipe once I realized what she was doing I gave her one. Boy was she content! She keep grabbing toys and wiping them like I had! I'm pretty sure she felt like a big kid! Someday I might teach her how to do my chores!

Grandma and Grandpa Barnes (My madre and padre) went to a garage sale earlier that day and found Mike a high chair and a baby mirror. I didn't think she would get into the mirror but she loved it! She would look at herself and smile and laugh because the other baby in the mirror was doing the same! Oh jeez!

'Merica

So while the rest of our 9th grade class was at Lagoon, Morgan, Jo, and I decided that we'd rather go to City Creek. That's where we found this beauty...

I almost bought it. Just to show my patriotism. Just kidding. I don't think I could ever wear something like that! And yes, we did find that at Forever 21. The store of well, lets just say lots of different styles.

Jo and I got some cool shades at H&M. I was quite excited! Although Morgan got sunglasses just like them the day earlier for a better price when she went to the mall...psssssshhh!

My Summer Challenge

So I decided after reading the New Testament in Seminary, I decided I didn't really want to stop for the summer after reading. Then I thought I could read the Book of Mormon again. I thought it was a great idea... until I remembered how long it was! I'm not going to give up on it but attempt it! I'm excited! Join me! It's a great book and I love it!!!

Here's a quote that has motivated me and I've only missed one day of scripture reading since the first day of school!
