Asians Don't Ice Skate.

I'm Asian. (Well duh) So you would expect me to be a flawless ice skater. Figure maybe. It should be in my blood. Nope. Far from it. I come from a line of clumsy people. In fact, I've decided that I've inherited the two dominant genes of clumsiness from my parents. (Typically you need just one dominant and two recessive...not in my case.)
First 5 seconds on the ice and I fell. Thanks mom and dad. You made this.

See those are my white friends...they are boss at ice skating. I do a rather hobble like kind of skate.

Now for some pictures of this crazy past week!

When you have Chris take pictures for you, he takes a selfie. Every. Time. Also, I miss the Unicorn Horn.

We unplanned quintuplited. (if that is even a word)

And Bryan. Need I say more?

I got snap chatted our Sadies pictures, (thanks Morgan!) They will be printed someday.

I don't really understand my face in this one. But yes, we were Mushu and Mulan. :) If you didn't already expect that, then you don't even know me.

Our fantastic group! Try and guess all the characters! We were very diverse. It was awesome! They were such a fun group! And I had a great date!

Yup. This explains us.

For absolutely no reason at all, Mike asked if she could take pictures on my phone. So like the responsible semi-adult I am, I let her. There's about 20 more of these. Just imagine it with basically it up her nostril.

Confession: I love Taylor Swift.
Confessioin #2: I hate her new album. But this picture is hilarious!

Zupas with my fantastical mother! I love her.

So I wanted to get some new sheets (living the rebel life, I know) So my mom took me to Ross. And you won't believe what we saw! A Drag Queen. No joke. For reals. His fish net tights perfectly matched his old man chin sag.
*Sorry the picture is blurry. But you get the idea.

Bonus: When we went ice skating, the guys that came with us all got figure skating (femmy) looking ice skates. While the rest of us girls got hockey looking skates. And the way that Tanner was walking in his skates was too priceless not to record. He looks like he should be model on the runway working that strut!

~In closing, Asians don't ice skate. Or at least I don't. That makes my life less sore, and more Full of Smiles.~

I Was Calm.

As many of you know, Fremont High School was on lockdown Monday, because a student had possession of a gun with intentions to open fire. Luckily, a brave girl spotted his gun and reported it.

Here's what I know:
-The announcement to keep all students in the classroom around 12:20pm seemed suspicious to me.
-It really became suspicious when it was announced about 10 minutes later they said we were in a lockdown situation.
-I was nervous, but I was calm.
-But it was okay, my parents had contacted me and some friends and I were in contact with the each other making sure we were all ok.
-Miraculously, NO shots were fired.
-No one was hurt.
-We were all prepared from a lockdown drill only a couple weeks prior.
-I am blessed to have family and friends who call and text me personally to ask how I was. I love that.
-God was with us.
-The officers, SWAT, and administration handled it flawlessly. It was truly amazing to see how well they all banded together to keep us safe.
-Pat downs don't feel good, but are nessesarry for safety precautions.
-Without the girl who reported a gun she saw, I could've easily lost one or multiple friends. Families could have lost their teens. The outcome would have ENTIRELY different. Because of ONE GIRL. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU!!!

It was no doubt nerve racking experience. And I have thought a lot about it since it has happened. I wasn't in panic mode or worried that something bad would happen because of it. I was calm. More calm than I have ever been actually. I know I was because I prayed for safety that morning to my Heavenly Father, as I'm sure many students did. Not knowing at all that something would happen to that extent that day, but it helps more than we can even know to be close to our Heavenly Father EVERY minute of EVERY day.

~Sometimes we go through things that we don't really understand. It doesn't make sense. Sometimes it's scary. But be calm, God is there. That makes the trial Full of Smiles.~

God is Good.

I say it a lot. Because it's true. Maybe it's because it was the week of Thanksgiving, but God is Good. I had to sit back in awe of this past week. Because I am happy. I am thankful. Here's just a few things why:

FAITH: I am thankful for who I am and have become because of what I know. It makes me happy knowing that I and the ones I love can live for eternity! I love that. I love being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

FAMILY: I am so greatful that I get to spend eternity with the people who drive me crazy, frustrate me, but overall make me happy and laugh beyond belief. I love that. I love them.

FRIENDS: I am so happy and thankful for my white friends. They listen to me (even when they don't want to), share their testimonies of the Gospel, and make me laugh. I love my white friends.

So yes that was a short post, but I'll make it up with some pictures from this past week.
Kaz being...Kazia.

Booyah. I got Mike asleep.

How could you not love Lukers?

He does like pictures, I promise.

Play place at the mall!

I get to live some of my childhood through my nephews and nieces...hence the awesome train at the mall. It really was exciting!

Mike loved it!

And so did Sam and Luke!

I mean look at that belly!

Mike and Luke on the flipping slide! I didn't have this kind of luxury as a child.

Sam laughing at Despicable Me...that kid is almost like a minion.

Twinning!

Kaz...yeahhh. Also, I don't really say "bae" but it's just really fun to say and tease about. But this girl really is before all else.

My apps bring all the grandkids to me!

But no really. Look how cute Sam is letting Kaz sit between his legs!

This kid's laugh is priceless.

Yup. That's my pops.

Sam loved my old phone! It even helped to teach him to sign "please". Cutest thing ever.

Mike slept over and she even let me french braid her hair--aunt Rissa for the win!

A few things you should know about having a sleepover with this goober:
-She pokes your face basically until you both fall asleep.
-She takes up 3/4 of the bed giving you about 1/4 for you to sleep on.
-She snores.
-She doesn't understand that you aren't supposed to horizontal sleep on the bed.
-Her prayers consist of "Heavenly Fader, tank fur dis day, Jesus Christ amen"
-But above all else, when you tell her you love her she says "I love you too" back and it melts your heart.

Went to Chick Fil A and Jakes with these kids. Afterwards, a impromptu party at Nolan's!

Did you notice Riley totally dodge in front of Nolan? Pretty funny.

But we took a make up picture. Then Riley wasn't quite in it.

I love Morgan's face in this one.

Cute little kid.

Yes, my grandma Ball did put boiled eggs on green beans. Just to be more festive.

Naps and afterwards pie with Kaz.

She ate most of it...

Blurry, but a cheeser!

So I don't like shopping, and when I wait in the car THIS happens. I'm guessing somebody lost a bet.

So adorable.

I'm really good at getting Kaz to sleep...not so good at the situations that she falls asleep.

They love me because of my apps.

This kid always sticks his tongue out on selfies. But it's okay, because it's cute.

Told you.

The face he made after he accidentally stepped on the dog's paw. Such a fragile kid, he doesn't like it when people don't like him.

So there was a stake dance, and there was no theme so we made one...I told friends to wear something superhero. We all wore Superman unplanned...But it was one of the funnest stake dances I have ever been to!

This is what happens when you yell "DANCE SELFIE!" You get a pretty good turn out...and about 20 pictures of it on your phone--thanks Bryan.
Mike found the perfect spot to sit at the store--we have the same outlook on shopping.

Pie Day in Sunday School!!

~There's a lot to be thankful for. God is Good. And that makes life Full of Smiles.~

My God is Good.
Life is not easy.
But it was never intended to be.
But he is there.
And because I know that,
everything is going to be okay.
